For me, making art is not about finding a particular subject or theme and repeating it ad infinitum. Every painting begins as a known unknown, that is, I know that I don’t know how it will end.

This exhibition is the result of allowing every work to emerge through constant experimentation in the studio. Thematically and stylistically diverse, ‘Known Unknowns’ includes portraiture, landscapes, and other works and comes at a turning point in my work as I move away from pure realism to what I feel is a more expressive, gestural way of painting.
